UAE introduces new system for renewing visas
Don’t fancy several journeys to the immigration office to renew your visa? The good news is it’s just become much, much easier.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) has introduced the "UAE vision" new system, which allows public to apply for all kind of visa and residency related transactions only via typing service centres approved by the residency department.
This basically means that you only need to visit an approved typing centre once to carry out all the paperwork and even payments. As long as you have all the documents in order, they will sort everything out and send it on to the immigration office, where you only need to go once to collect your stamped passport.
The end result is this should make the process far smoother at the actual immigration office (you probably know this as the DNRD building near Trade Centre) because there will be far less queues and lower waiting times.
This great new initiative is all the brainchild of Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and foreigners’ Affairs in Dubai
