Wind and light rain expected in UAE
It looks like we’ve got wind and clouds coming our way as the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) predicts moderate winds which could reduce visibility, as well as rough seas.
In a statement released today, NCMS forecasted humid weather for Tuesday and Wednesday morning, and fresh winds that may pick up dust during the day "reducing horizonal visibility". Local media report that there's a possibility of light rain in parts of the country.
The forecast for tomorrow from the national weather centre reads: “Fair to partly cloudy weather in general, moderate to fresh winds, strong at times over the Sea, especially towards north & causing blowing dust/sand, especially over the exposed areas. Sea will be rough in Arabian Gulf, especially towards north and rough to moderate in Oman Sea. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning times over some coastal and northern internal areas.”
The weather centre also tweeted to say that the warning of rough to very rough sea in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea continues.
This comes after what was reported to be the UAE’s coldest April in 19 years. Earlier this month, temperatures slipped to around 17 degrees Celsius at 6am, which is a low not seen since 1997. Before you start getting out the winter coats, it doesn’t look like we’re going to see a big drop in temperatures any time soon. Dubai is expected to be between 22c and 31c going into the weekend.
