There’s been so much theme park news lately that it’s almost starting to seem like Dubai is going to become one giant playground in the desert… oh no wait, it already is.

IMG Worlds of Adventure, Dubai Parks & Resorts, 20th Century Fox World and Warner Bros have all got plans at various stages of development in the UAE. The latest image of Six Flags Dubai looks similarly impressive, adding more thrills to the region’s leisure offering.

Six Flags Dubai is scheduled to open in 2019, as part of Dubai Parks and Resorts’ second phase of development. For those of you who are familiar with Six Flags, the new park will feature record breaking roller coasters, massive shows and interactive attractions that are synonymous with the brand.

A state-of-the-art promenade will be the first thing that guests see on arrival, with a fully air-conditioned VIP mezzanine, space for private events and plenty food venues. The park’s signature roller coaster will circle around the promenade, bringing the rides into the whole experience.

All of that sounds good, but we bet you’re wondering how it’s going to set itself apart from the rest. Six Flags Dubai is dubbing itself a “thrill park” with a total of 27 attractions including roller coasters, tower rides and water slides designed to get your adrenaline pumping. There will also be visual reality experiences and a next generation 4-D interactive dark ride.  After-dark, the park will put on a light show.

“Through this collaborative partnership with Dubai Parks and Resorts, we are excited to bring innovation, entertainment and unmatched thrills to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC),” said John Odum President of Six Flags International Development Co. “As the largest regional theme park company in the world, we are dedicated to showcasing Six Flags Dubai as a world-class, one-of-a-kind theme park.”

We can’t wait. Check out some of the rides at the 18 locations in North America below.
