Eid holidays: 9 days off for public sector

The Eid Al Fitr holiday for the public sector has been announced, starting on Sunday, July 3 until Saturday, July 9, news agency WAM reported. This means that employees will return to work on Sunday, July 10. This is based on the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

This adds up to a nine-days off for those in the public sector, including weekends. Depending on the moon sighting, it’s expected that Eid Al Fitr will fall on Wednesday, July 6.

The holiday for the private sector has not yet been announced.
