7 things to do in Dubai this week

Posh Yorkshire puddings, an AED99 curry night and a ladies night full of sweeties. This week is full of food, with some jazz, hiking and shopping in between.

Limited edition Yorkshire puddings
Head along to Reform Social and Grill to celebrate the humble Yorkshire pud. The gastropub is launching a limited edition selection to their menu – expect the likes of savoury Yorkshires filled with roast beef, horseradish and watercress, or hot smoked salmon with cream cheese and chives. You can also get a sweet version of the traditional British food, including the chocolate and caramel yorkie. Sounds strange but we’re definitely going to try them all. AED50 per platter.

Argy Bhaji at The Scene
Every Monday night from 5pm The Scene is celebrating the classic takeaway curry… but while dining in. Try the likes of chicken tikka masala served with a pot of half rice and half chips. Chomp down with some poppadoms and a drink for AED99.

Candylicious @ Mahiki
Step inside a candy wonderland as Mahiki decks itself out with all things sweet. Expect candy stations, cupcakes and plenty of treats. There are complementary mixed drinks for ladies until 1am as long as you arrive before 11pm. Make sure you dress up and prepare for plenty of dancing.

Cinema – Star Trek Beyond (15)
Famously filmed in Dubai (or at least the parts of the movie where executive producer Jeffrey Chernov wanted to “represent the future”), Star Trek: Beyond is the third of the latest franchise of the adventures of the USS Enterprise. It sees Captain Kirk (Chris Pine), Scotty (Simon Pegg) and Mr Spock (Zachary Quinto) and crew abandoning ship after an attack and dealing with unknown forces on a strange planet. The film is the final screen role of Anton Yelchin, who passed away recently.
