McGettigan’s Monday Movies Presents Good Will Hunting
McGettigan’s Monday Movies is currently paying homage to the brilliant Robin Williams with a selection of his best movies. This week you can enjoy Good Will Hunting – the final movie in the Williams series. Will Hunting (Matt Damon) is a janitor at M.I.T. and has a gift for mathematics. With a little help from therapist Sean Maguire (Robin Williams), he is able to find direction in his life. Console yourself during this tearjerker by snuggling up on one of the beanbags and tucking into unlimited, freshly made popcorn and one beverage for AED35. In the words of Will: “I’m pumped! Let the healing begin!” Doors open at 8pm and the film starts at 8:30pm.

Hip Hop Chic – Mondays at Cirque le Soir

O’ Socialista @ Okku
This is one of the few restaurants in Dubai that doesn’t need a gimmick, but Okku’s ‘O’ Socialista Ladies Night is a great way to sample its Japanese dishes with the added benefit of free-flowing bubbles and three ‘O’ style mixed drinks of your choice.

Cinema – Skiptrace (15)
One compliment rarely proffered in the direction of Jackie Chan movies is the sheer beauty of the cinematography. In this odd-ball buddy movie, though, his all-action stunts and witty byplay are relegated behind the sheer majesty of China’s landscapes, which are shot in gorgeous light and sweeping panoramas as Chan, a Hong Kong cop, and Johnny Knoxville, a small-time hustler, attempt to hide from a notorious local gangster. Not quite Rush Hour but a visual treat all the same.
