When we heard that the Middle East Film and Comic Con was making its long awaited return to the region we jumped at the chance to attend the festival that sees Marvel, DC and pretty much anything comic related combine forces.

Here are four of the things that we loved most about the action packed extravaganza held at The Dubai World Trade Centre…

1. The cosplay
A few of the characters we spotted included the Joker, Harley Quinn and Star Wars' Stormtroppers.

2. The art
Over 25 international artists attended the festival which also showcased regional artists like Mont8 and Diaa Allam. There were also a number of metal sculptures created by Australian company RoomNumberOne on display. The sculptures ranged from Walli-e from the Pixar film of the same name, Star Wars characters and a giant Alien from the Alien vs Predators franchise.

3. The celebrities
Liam Cunningham, Greg Grunberg and WWE's Kane made guest appearances.

4. The food
Mylos and The Shebi were just two of the food stalls that tempted our taste buds.
