1. Palace Downtown to offer up to 20 percent summer discounts

2. Electronic travel ban lifted on all Etihad flights to the US
The US "laptop ban" that prevented all passengers travelling on flights from the UAE to the US from carrying major electronic devices in the cabin has just been lifted on all Etihad flights.
The airline released an official statement, saying: “Effective immediately, the removal of the restrictions allows passengers flying to the US to carry all laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices onto the aircraft, subject to enhanced security measures. “We would like to thank our guests for their understanding and loyalty while the ban was in place.”
The move comes after the “successful validation of security measures at the US pre-clearance facility at Abu Dhabi airport.”

3. RTA to partially close Dubai Metro's Red Line
From July 28 to October 14, the RTA will be closing the route from Jumeriah Lakes Tower to Ibn Battuta on weekends to carry out further construction on the route to the Expo 2020 site. This, ultimately means that the time taken to travel to and from Jebal Ali via the Dubai Metro will take longer during the weekend... While little can be done with regard to the increase in travel time, the RTA has announced that they will be providing complimentary shuttle buses to and from both stations.

4. Wild Wadi named one of the world’s best waterparks
For the third year in a row, three UAE waterparks made the world’s best list. Aquaventure at Atlantis The Palm, Wild Wadi at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Yas Waterworld on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island have all made the top ten, however, they’ve all slipped down the ranks slightly.
In the World’s Best 25 Waterparks, as voted by Tripadvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards, Aquaventure has moved from the third spot up to number four, while Wild Wadi fell from six to eight. Yas Waterworld has also slipped down slightly, going from number nine to number ten. As it’s the height of summer, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t pay each of them a visit yourself. There are worse ways to cool down.
