Marks and Spencer just announced that they will be opening their very first standalone food stall in Dubai Marina in the next few weeks.

The news was announced this morning by Executive Director of Marks and Spencer Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne during an interview with Dubai Eye.

“Marks and Spencer will be opening their first ever stand-alone food store in the Dubai Marina in a few weeks. It will be the first in the region and will have a much bigger food catalog.”

While the brand already has a Marks and Spencer Café in Dubai Festival City, we are super excited for the stall to open. Not only will we no longer have to trek half way across the city for our afternoon tea cupcake and quiche, we will also now be able to buy most of our poultry items, red meat and fresh produce in one location.

During the interview on Dubai Eye’s Business Morning Breakfast show, Bousquet-Chavanne also touched on the brands current GCC retail strategy.

“M&S has been transforming for several years now and the transformation is customer led. We have been noticing a peak in customer interaction via the use of their smartphone. So, in an attempt to remain a relevant, modern and contemporary retailer, we have focused our attention on the digital economy.

Hopefully in the next 12 months, we will have a website that’s purely for our customers in the GCC. It will still have the same items that our customers can currently access on our international website but it will just be locally produced which will help cut down travel costs and time.”

Basically what this will mean is that instead of waiting three to five working days for your delicious turkey to arrive, you’ll just have to wait the standard UAE delivery time which is anywhere between three to six hours or one to three working days.

While we patiently wait for the M&S food store to open, we’ve gathered six gifs that perfectly our shopping experience in the sure to be produce paradise….
