Fedde Le Grand live in Dubai
Since encouraging the world to put their hands up for Detroit in 2006, Fedde le Grand has been rolling out hits. Dubai is one of the many stops on his latest stint around the globe, where he’ll take to the decks at Cavalli Club this Thursday May 7.
Known for bringing House music to the mainstream, he’s remixed some of the biggest names in pop – Madonna, Robbie Williams, and Coldplay to name a few. The Dutch DJ and producer has held a spot on DJ Mag’s top 30 influential DJs for the last decade, and he recently collaborated with Shakira and Rihnna on Can't Remember to Forget You.
It’s been quite a journey since his first number one in the UK in 2006. After his early hits and a debut album featuring Will.i.am, the festival scene followed. The 37-year old is now a regular headliner at Tomorrowland, Coachella and UMF.
Away from the dancefloor, Fedde is a bit of a music mogul. The world-renowned performer has been credited with launching the careers of some EDM greats, including Nicky Romero and Danny Avila, who is often cited as his prodigy.
He’s also the co-founder of Flamingo Recordings, which he heads up with fellow DJ/producers Funkerman and Raf Jansen. Put Your Hands up for Detroit was the label’s fist big hit, but now they have a long list of successes, including Camille Jones’ The Creeps and Let Me Think about It by Ida Corr. As if all that wasn’t enough, the 37-year-old makes time for a weekly satellite radio show, Dark Light Sessions.
