Review: Bench brunch at Rove Dubai Marina Hotel
There are only a select number of brunches that stand the test of time in Dubai. While new players come and go, and old classics fall about the wayside when the competition becomes too much, it’s tricky to stay relevant. One such feast that has stood firm, as you may have guessed from the preamble and headline, is the bench brunch. Popularised by the fact it has an unlimited buffet theme AND something specially prepared in the kitchens.
The latest location brunch location is at the super-hip Rove Dubai Marina Hotel. The traditional setup found within other Rove’s across Dubai is spread across light and breezy The Daily restaurant. We tuck into the impressive range of pastries and juicy fruit platters. An Americano becomes the perfect pairing for the tasty pain au chocolat and croissants we’ve piled up.
There’s often a bit of a scrum around the buffet island, which you can take as a sign of quality fare. We sample the affectionately labelled ‘stinky cheeses’ with a range of soft, just out of the over breads, too, before thoroughly enjoying a sweet potato hash with baked eggs and soft waffles with yoghurt, banana and strawberries. In all, this new bench brunch maintains the high standards it needs to stick around for a long time. And we’ll certainly be back for more.
