October is a time of bountiful harvest in Japan, followed by the Festival of Rice, Takayama Autumn Festival and Kawagoe Festival.

These cultural celebrations bring tourists from all over the world to indulge in the culture, the scenery and, of course, the cuisine.

And it's the cuisine that Deliveroo specialises in, obviously. Japanese food is one of the most popular options in the UAE, and that makes a lot of sense when you consider the quality of places like Sushi Art, Yo! Sushi, Miyabi, Sushi counter, and Chez Sushi, to name a few.

So while you indulge yourself in some Sashimi and Miso soup, why not learn some Japanese food facts from Deliveroo.

The most popular Japanese sweet treat is mochi

There are five types of sushi - maki, temaki, uramaki, sashimi, and nigiri

Although seafood and meat are often seen in Japanese dishes, veggie dishes are growing in popularity - Deliveroo saw a 48% rise in vegetable-filled sushi in the past six months
