Former Guns N' Roses guitarist to play Dubai
Guns N’ Roses’ former guitarist has just been confirmed for a gig at Dubai’s Music Room on December 11.
Gilby Clarke, who plugged in for the band from 1991 to 1995, is one of ten guitarists to play for Guns N’ Roses over the years. They’ve gone through a serious number of band members, and Gilby isn’t the first to take his solo strings to Dubai. Possibly the most famous guitarists for the guns, Slash, played Dubai Tennis Stadium in 2013, while Bumblefoot has performed live in the UAE numerous times.
Since leaving Guns N’ Roses in 1995, Gilby has played alongside other rock greats in super group Rock Star Supernova, which included members of Metallica and Mötley Crüe. He’s also released some solo albums – six in fact – and produced music for a long list of bands.
Gilby will be pleased to have the peace and quiet of a solo career at the moment. Recent news suggest that Guns N’ Roses have lost their second band member in less than a week, with DJ Ashba leaving to focus on his other music, and rumours rife that Bumblefoot made his exit from the band earlier this year.
