WATCH: Latest video from IMG Worlds of Adventure - now open
The wait is over – IMG Worlds of Adventure has thrown its doors open to the public. At a staggering 1.5 million square feet (that's around 28 football pitches), it is the world’s biggest indoor theme park – and it’s fully air-conditioned.
IMG Worlds posted a new video on their Facebook page on Wednesday declaring they are now open. And if you ask us, it looks like there's a lot of fun to be had.
Located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, the $1 billion project has four zones with around 20 signature rides and attractions, 28 F&B outlets and 25 retail stores. The Marvel and Cartoon Network themed rides are the main pull, with ones themed around the likes of Thor, Iron Man, Spiderman and The Avengers. There will also be a Lost Valley where guests can try to complete the dinosaur-themed rides before the volcano explodes.
The rollercoasters and attractions include “Predator”, which is a sheer drop of over 90 degrees and the white-knuckle “The Velociraptor”, which is 0-100 in 2.5 seconds.“Thor Thunder Spin” allows guests to battle Loki alongside Thor on a crazy floorless ride through fog, water and fountains.
There’s also a 5D cinema – yes, 5D – that screens a fun cartoon about defeating robots and the audience are ‘recruits’. With 3D glasses, seats that move and shake, as well as smoke that puffs into your face at random intervals, it’s definitely a good attraction to visit if you have kids with you.
The IMG Boulevard offers street entertainment, food trucks and retail spaces, while the 12-screen Novo cinema will be open for admission to those looking to catch a film without entering the park, as well as park guests.
Tickets cost AED300 for adults and AED250 for children. Little ones under the age of 3 enter for free.
