3 huge events at Zero Gravity this weekend

As the weather cools down Zero Gravity is pulling in the crowds, and this is set to be the biggest weekend of the season so far. Beadyman, Paul Van Dyk, DubVision, 99 Souls and Eli & Fur will take the beach club through three days of partying, from Thursday, October 6 until Saturday, October 8. This is what they’ve got in store…

Thursday – Velocity presents Beardyman
The weekend kicks off with beatboxing legend Beardyman on Thursday, October 6. If his last appearance at Zero Gravity is anything to go by, the night will be packed. With performances viewed over 60 million times on YouTube and headline slots in some of the world’s biggest festivals, he’s amassed a huge fan base. His latest album, Distractions, was three years in the making, and is a bit of a different vibe to his previous work.

“Once I found a way to sequence these tracks, I thought ‘This really works’,” says Beardyman. “There are three different trajectories, but they hang together well as a journey. The Balearic ones seem to be about love, lust and betrayal, the electronic ones are abstract and the singer-songwriter tracks are more personal, quite angsty.”

Entry into Velocity is free for guys before 10pm and free for ladies before midnight – AED100 for those who arrive later.

Friday – One Big Friday presents Paul Van Dyk, DubVision & 99 Souls
Another headliner returns to Zero Gravity on Friday, as German DJ and producer Paul Van Dyk heads the line-up for this season’s first One Big Friday. The Grammy-nominated musician will be putting on a concert-style performance at the day-to-night party, so expect a big show. He’ll be joined on the bill by Dutch brothers DubVision, who have made waves on Beatport and YouTube this year, as well as 99 Souls.

One Big Friday runs from 3pm until 3am. Entrance is free before 6pm and AED150 thereafter. Tickets are available on platinumlist.net.

Saturday – SuperNatural presents Eli & Fur
Adding a new night to the mix, Saturdays are going underground with SuperNatural, which recently launched at the beach club. Billing itself as a ‘day-to-night voyage of artistic entertainment’, this is the place to be to discover the industry’s emerging and in-the-know DJs. Eli & Fur will headline this weekend’s event, and according to Beatport they are 2015’s ‘One’s To Watch’. They also recently won Best Breakthrough Artist at the 2016 IDMA Awards.

Entry to SuperNatural is free all day.
