Sports fans are catered for first and foremost here. Those who haven’t been playing a game are often here to watch one on the many big screens dotted about the space. There’s pool tables, dart boards and even foosball tables for those who like to keep it retro. There are three distinct spaces at Kickers – the main bar, the huge seating area just outside the bar and the smaller terrace overlooking the pitches, which tends to be packed most nights. There’s also a good menu of pub grub and a daily happy hour deal that offers a 33 percent discount on selected food and beverages.

Stereo Arcade

This trendy New York-style hangout is all a bit Brooklyn club meets Stranger Things. It will take you back to the distant age of the pre-Xbox world with the likes of Pac-Man and Street Fighter plunging you into a deep state of nostalgia. On one side of it is a retro club, on the other a pumping rock bar. In the middle, hence the name, is a classic arcade with an array of video games. Be prepared to lose a few hours in here.

The 44

This trendy spot combines bowling, bar sports and live sport with a gentleman’s club vibe. Serving something of a niche in the city, its two bowling lanes obviously dominate – not only in their central location in the bar, but also the sheer volume of it. There’s also a couple of dart boards and two decent pool tables and outside there’s a sizable terrace, should the macho beating of chests all get a bit too much. When you’re not playing to the death, the vibe is laid-back and the bar itself is sprawling.
