The five best pies in Dubai

Clinton St. Baking Company
Organic roasted pecans and lashings of maple syrup tucked inside a flaky butter crust with a scoop of vanilla ice cream placed on top as a finishing touch – this sweet maple pecan pie is just about as good as it gets. Once you get a taste you may just want to take the whole pie home.

Public Café
The beauty of a pie is that it can be sweet or savoury – but can they be cheesy? The Greek pie at JLT’s Public Café  answers that with a satisfying yes. Served nice and warm, the thick, flaky, crumbly pastry is stuffed with an enormously generous amount of feta cheese. Nuff said.

The Eloquent Elephant
The meaty pies served here are so special, they’re only available at the weekend, and they also change the type of meat used on a weekly basis. If you do, by chance, get to dig into its beef special (that comes with brilliant mash and gravy), count yourself very lucky.

The Irish Village
Clearly, the Irish know how to make a sweet dessert, the prime example being its homemade apple pie. With plenty of Anglaise sauce (a.k.a custard), generous scoops of vanilla ice cream, mounds of whipped cream and slight drizzle of raspberry, this one is all about the toppings (and actual pie, of course).

The Lion by Nick & Scott
If you prefer a pie the savoury way, the beef pudding with creamy mash and rich beef gravy is just about the meatiest one around. Yes, it says pudding, but we know it’s a pie in disguise.
