McGettigan’s to open in Madinat Jumeirah
This news is bitter sweet – a favourite hangout closes and another one opens. McGettigan’s has just announced that they will be opening a new bar in Dubai at Souk Madinat Jumeirah this summer. The chain is taking over Frioul restaurant, which is due to close its doors on May 13 to make way for the Irish pub.
Frioul regulars will know that the location is pretty special. Conveniently situated beneath Pacha Ibiza Dubai, it’s a huge space with a waterfront terrace and views of the Burj Al Arab. You can expect this new Mcgettigan’s to live up to the reputation built by its predecessors, with plenty of live music and sports coverage.
Dennis McGettigan, CEO of McGettigan’s Group said: “I could not be more delighted to be making this announcement, Madinat Jumeirah is one of the most prestigious and visited locations in Dubai and opening a McGettigan's at this site is an extremely proud moment for us as a group.”
“We feel we can bring a different style of dining and nightlife experience to the Madinat which will perfectly compliment the existing offering of top quality bars and restaurants already available and further enhance the experience of Madinat visitors,” he added.
Images are on McGettigan's NYC, which is a similar style to the new Madinat Jumeirah pub.
The bar will open this summer in partnership with Utopia, Viva Entertainment. The company’s CEO, Umesh Amarnani said he’s extremely excited about the joint venture.
“We are extremely pleased to announce this partnership with the McGettigan's family, and are excited to bring this world class Irish pub concept to Madinat Jumeirah,” he said. “There is a growing demand for casual F&B options in Dubai and Madinat has an ideal mix of both local and tourist markets making it an ideal setting for a signature McGettigan's here in Dubai.”
