On Thursday, 25th of May it was revealed that the coastline of Dubai will be expanded by 400 percent by the year 2040. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that residents of the emirates and visitors will be able to enjoy 105 km of public beaches, a significant expansion compared to the current 21km.
The Rulers Spoke Regarding Dubai Urban Plan 2040
The services provided at these venues will be increased by 300 percent. The amenities will include shops, dining spots, various water sports, and family spaces in addition to a marine life sanctuary.
The announcement was made after the ruler of the Emirates visited Jebel Ali Beach and spoke with top executives regarding the Dubai Urban Plan 2040. He shared a video that shows the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, releasing turtles into the sea.
Sheikh Mohammed shared on his Twitter handle that they first launched the first urban plan in Dubai in the 1960s. He added that development in Dubai is progressing and that they are still in the beginning. He ends the note with the promise of providing the best standard of living for individuals and families in services and projects across the world.
If this is the beginning of development in Dubai, it is pretty sure that there is more in surprise waiting for the rest of the world on how the emirate continues to build and evolve itself according to the demands of the time.
There will be many more urban projects that will assist the Emirate’s economic and tourism agenda for the coming decade. The authorities have declared that Dubai will be continuing to compete with itself to be the ideal place for both its guests and residents.
The king added that their target is to integrate the top position achieved by Dubai as one of the most unique and developed cities in the globe. He promised that they will continue to preserve this distinctive character of Dubai as its name is synonymous with success and attaining what is deemed impossible.
The Sheikh expressed his green flag towards the beach project in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, and various other dignitaries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was received by Mattar Al Tayer, the Commissioner General for Infrastructure Urban Planning and Wellbeing Pillar, at the Jebel Ali Public Beach.
The Prime Minister of UAE looked at the layout and the implementation phases of this Master Plan, both short and long-term initiatives to be carried out during each phase as well as the facilities, services, and features to be affixed on each of these beaches.
