A Dubai-themed monopoly game will hit stores soon
You can now pay for new home, take out a bank loan and buy your next business. How? With money of course, Dubai-Opoly money that is.
Fans of the game Monopoly - which was first created by Charles Darrow in 1935 and then later bought over by the Parker Brothers - will be pleased to learn that Dubai is getting its very own version this year. Now you can now enjoy all the games perks, challenges and well fights... because we’ve seen a few in our day, Dubai-style.
Besides being extremely fun and slightly frustrating to play, Dubai-Opoly has been created to with the purpose of promoting Dubai as a hub for business and trade.
Speaking on the project, President and CEO of Dubai’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hamad Buamim reveals: “By launching this unique initiative, we will promote Dubai’s brand and boost its international profile. Dubai-Opoly offers an ideal platform to showcase what Dubai has to offer businesses and tourists, while it also merges these two concepts together in a fun and interactive way.”
While we don’t know if the game will be strictly modelled on the original version, we do know that it will feature a few of the emirate’s iconic landmarks such as Arabian Ranches, Za'abeel, Dubai Marina and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). It will also touch on some of the most popular aspects of living and doing business in the emirate. So, we think that this means that they’ll include the Deira Gold Souk, Old Town Dubai, The Dubai Mall, the Dubai International Financial Centre…and Dubai Marina.
The game which is said to be released imminently will be available in the UAE and across the GCC and we can’t wait.
Here’s a few gifs that perfectly depict some of the various emotions and outbursts that can be expected when we get our hands on the game.
