The Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival
This is the 15th year of the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival, which has seen it evolve well beyond the confines of its name and into one of the premier music events in the region. Opening the event is Welsh legend Tom Jones, the powerhouse live performer who has been entertaining crowds for more than 50 years, and completing the lineup is Spanish superstar Enrique Iglesias.

More top-class sport comes to Dubai as two tennis tournaments are held back-to-back in the city; first up are the women in their WTA Premier 5 event before it’s the men’s turn in their ATP 500 tournament. The women’s week looks particularly strong as seven of the current world top ten are in action, including Germany’s Angelique Kerber, who enjoyed an astonishing 2016. She won her first Grand Slam in Australia in January before reaching the final of Wimbledon and then winning the US Open. Also on show are Agnieszka Radwanska and emerging Brit, Johanna Konta. This is the 25th year of the event, so expect a lot of interesting activations and celebrations throughout the two weeks. Get the oversized tennis balls at the ready.
