6 things to do in Dubai this week
The Blue Man Group
The sort of genre-defying music spectacular that seems designed for a Las Vegas residence, Blue Man Group always draw huge crowds across the world. They’ve completely updated their show for 2017 with entirely new music – much of it hand-waving, banging tunery – and custom-made instruments and all new technology. It’s perhaps best to leave any preconceptions at home.

World Art Dubai
This is the third edition of the contemporary art fair that seeks to democratise the appreciation and collection of fine art. Artists from five continents, which have been gathered up by 150 international galleries, will come to Dubai in this unique combination of exhibition, education and entertainment in which the overarching message seems to be: enough with the posturing, art really is for everyone. That certainly isn’t to lessen the value or importance of the works on display, but you won’t need to sell your apartment to buy a sculpture or abstract work that catches your eye here – everything in the fair is priced between AED360 and AED73, 500. There is also a programme of workshops, music and even a contemporary craft market.
