Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra to make Dubai debut
One of the best chamber orchestras in the world is all set to make its Dubai debut next April!
The world-renewed Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra – a group that consists of the very best musicians on the scene, with members from the London Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic and more – will be performing at the Dubai Opera on Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
The event, that will feature a number of classic scores written by Mozart, Saint-Saëns and Schubert, will be led by acclaimed conductor, Gábor Takács-Nagy, and guest soloist, George Li.
Tickets for the once in a life time performance start from AED250 and go on sale this Wednesday, September 27.
Speaking on the event, Dubai Opera’s Chief Executive Jasper Hope, said: “The Verbier Festival is one of the brightest stars of the Swiss cultural calendar and its orchestra comprises the best of the best from an incredible array of world-class ensembles.”
He added: “It’s fantastic they’ve agreed to make a stop at Dubai Opera on their tour next April – audiences can expect a stunning programme performed live by a great orchestra of the world as well as a chance to hear a young prodigy in George Li give his interpretation of Saint-Saëns' most popular piano concerto.”

It comprises of alumni musicians from the Verbier Festival Orchestra and was founded in 2005.
One of the group’s biggest projects was performing and recording Mozart’s Violin Concertos with soloist/conductor Maxim Vengerov.
It is the resident chamber orchestra at the iconic Verbier Festival, which celebrates its 25 anniversary in July next year.
The world renowned orchestra also has an annual residency at the world-famous spa retreat Schloss Elmau, Germany.
