Live on the Lake presents Remix 92
Remember the song “C’est La Vie”? “No Limits”? “S Club Party”? Well, it’s time to reconnect with your ’90s/noughties roots and head over to the Irish Village this weekend, where there’s a line-up of retro stars just waiting to take you back down to nostalgia town. Irish girl group B*Witched will headline the event, alongside SC3 (the members left from the hit band S Club 7), 2 Unlimited, Liberty X, and many more. DJs Tim Cheddar and Rich from Dubai 92 will also be there, blasting out nothing but ’90s classics. Get your denim jackets and scrunchies at the ready – it’s going to be a big one.

Federico Soldati 
Illusionist, mentalist, artist – Federico Soldati is bringing his unique show to the Madinat Theatre. The man has been performing since he was 14, but made it big after appearing on Italia’s Got Talent in 2012. He might have finished third place, but he’s been in high demand ever since. Tickets are AED75 and doors open at 8.30pm.

Ironman 70.3 Dubai 2018
You’re probably not taking part in the event, but you can at least cheer on the folks that are undertaking a 3.86km swim, 180.25km bike ride and 42.16km marathon run. Perhaps you’ll get inspired to take part next year! Maybe.

Taking advantage of the cooler climes, El Chiringuitohas just launched its brand new “By Night” event that will see its guests unwind in utmost style and comfort on the venue’s newly built beach terrace. Laid back tunes set the mood while the stars, candlelight and city lights set the scene. There’s food too. Overseen by head chef Jèrome Palayer, the night’s menu includes a number of delicious meat cuts like the roasted sucking lamb shoulder, lamb chops and Black Angus filet mignon. Veggies options include the moreish Italian burrata and the venue’s signature fattoush salad.

Azure Beach

Nowhere Birds Live at The Fridge
Dubai-born indie-folk duo Nowhere Birds, which is made up of Jules Suarez and Mitchiko Bagayna, is launching a debut self-titled EP with a concert at The Fridge. Three more musicians will join them on stage, and food will be provided by Hot Boxx UAE food truck. Tickets for the show are priced at AED50.

Wasla 2018
Back in Dubai for a second edition is this awesome alternative Arabic music festival. On the line-up are the likes of Egyptian rock group Cairokee, Bahrain’s progressive fusion-folk band Majaz, Jordanian indie outfit Autostrad, and the Algerian gnawa group Gnawa Diffusion. Overall, it’ll be an eclectic mix of genres from rock, folk and jazz to electronica, funk and reggae. Tickets are AED245 online and AED295 at the door. It runs from 2pm until 1.30am.

The BPM Festival featuring Stacey Pullen and Jesse Calosso
This is the first of three events in The BPM Festival: Dubai Residency at Base series. It kicks off with Detroit techno heavyweight Stacey Pullen, who has played at the BPM festival every year since it started. He’s taking to the decks alongside New York house music producer and DJ, Jesse Calosso.

Decibel with Stranger
Independent club night specialists Decibel are hosting Stranger, said to be one of Rotterdam’s “best-kept secrets” in techno. The DJ/producer, who has been working on his own Self Reflektion label in the background, can be found on the line-ups of some of the biggest clubs and events in techno.

Nomad x Heidi x Nicole Moudaber
Canadian, UK-based DJ Heidi, who’s known for her skit on the BBC’s Radio 1 Residency show or for the Jackathon parties, is joining Nicole Moudaber, the renowned DJ/producer, at El Chiringuito for a great night of house, techno and disco. Local talents DEIAN, maks and Diamond Setter will also provide some tunes.
