RedFest DXB
Get ready for an outstanding weekend of pop, rap and R&B. Over two days, some seriously well-known international artists are taking to the Dubai Media City stage for the fifth edition of RedFest DXB. In the past, we’ve seen top-notch performances from the likes of Demi Lovato, Pitbull and Iggy Azalea. This year, we’ve got DJ duo The Chainsmokers (“Closer”, “Don’t Let Me Down”) headlining day one, followed by American singer and rapper Kesha (“Tik Tok”, “We R Who We R”) on day two. These superstars are joined by British R&B favourite Craig David, American rapper Russ, English singer-songwriter Kelli-Leigh, dance music producer Marshmello, and, bringing each evening to an end, Dubai’s own DJ Dany Neville. Ticket prices range from AED395 to AED1,195. It’s shaping up to be a top weekend…

Long Drive World Series 2018
The breakout tournament from the world of golf returns to Dubai this week. The Long Drive World Series is still a relatively new stand-alone sport, but it’s quickly gained a following thanks to the glitz, glamour and fireworks that accompany each edition. The 2017 Dubai champion, Tim Burke, will once again line-up against the competition to see who can whack the ball furthest down the beautiful Jumeirah Golf Estates course. Rather than traipse around the fairways and greens as the golfers move to each pin, the Long Drive World Series is more of a social affair with canapes, drinks and light entertainment. Think going to brunch, but instead of someone with an acoustic guitar, it’s a guy swinging a club with all his might.

Ludovico Einaudi Live
Ludovico Einaudi, the Italian pianist and composer, might not be a household name but we’re sure you’ll have heard a few of his songs. His albums have topped the charts and he’s worked on award-winning scores for the likes of Doctor Zhivago and This Is England. At his Dubai show, expect to hear his greatest hits. Tickets start from AED160.

Rock climbing
Why not work up a sweat by tackling Dubai’s highest climbing wall? It took two years to build, and at 15-metres tall, Dorell Sport’s outdoor wall, known as, ahem, The Wall, can be found at the World Trade Centre.
Rock up (sorry) and instructors will give you basic coaching before deciding what coloured “rocks” you should be clinging onto on your way up. Once you’ve done that, you can probably think about heading to Ras Al Khaimah with nothing but a pot of chalk and a sense of adventure. Don’t forget your factor 30.
Price: AED60 for a day pass
