Rita Ora relishing return to Dubai
Rita Ora will be performing in Dubai later this week when she joins fellow UK artists Little Mix and Liam Payne for a charitable event taking place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre stadium, and the singer has expressed her delight about playing to her fans in the region once again.
Ora will be on stage at The Assembly: A Global Teacher Prize Concert, an event which has been set up to reward the work of teachers worldwide, where one lucky teacher will win a AED3.67m prize for their contribution to education.
The singer/songwriter, who has also starred in Fifty Shades of Grey, is delighted to be returning to Dubai.
‘I’m so excited to be back in Dubai especially since I’m performing music from my new album Phoenix,’ she said in an interview with ShortList. ‘With Liam and Little Mix, you better get ready for the UK takeover, celebrating amazing teachers at the Global Teacher Prize Concert!
‘The fans should expect a huge party with a mixture of songs from the new album and the classics for my Ritabots!’
Ora went on to explain why her new album is so important from an individual perspective.
‘This entire Phoenix album is really personal to me because it’s all about the journey and what I’ve been through in my life to get me to where I am today,’ she said.
Given the theme of the concert, Ora reflected on her own time in education and the important role teachers can play in developing students.
‘I loved all my teachers because I went to a performing arts school and my main classes were Theatre and Music, the singer recalled.
‘Teachers are so important because they influence your future by giving you the tools and knowledge necessary to achieve your dreams.
‘When I was at school, I really loved music and theatre but PE was my least favourite. I went to Sylvia Young Theatre and Music school so music was one of my main subjects.’
