Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark to become region's biggest

The Atlantis Aquaventure Waterpark is set to become one of the biggest of its kind in the world thanks to the addition of a third action-packed tower.

Scheduled to open in the summer of 2020, ‘Trident Tower,’ which will be 34 metres tall, will introduce 12 new slides, adding something new for people of all ages, from young children to those adults who simply refuse to grow up.

The new tower will feature rides including the world’s longest all-new ProSlide MammothBLAST, a 449-metre family adventure water coaster that delivers uncompromising force at unprecendented speeds. Rafts rocket through winding channels and you will experience a breathtaking series of back-to-back curves, drops and uphill climbs.

You will also be able to experience a flying saucer-style ride, the Middle East’s first of its kind, where guests are rocketed through gravity-defying turns and around wide-open saucer features at maximum velocity.

What’s more, for those Aquaventure fans who have already tackled the iconic Leap of Faith slide, you will have the opportunity to try out Trident Tower’s updated version, which is comprised of two fearsome slides rather than one, with each dropping the guest more than 34 metres at stomach-churning speeds.

As if children needed any added incentive to head down to the waterpark, a new area for youngsters will feature four mini versions of adult rides, including a mega fun competitive mat racer comprising two lanes of head-first downhill fun.

The new kids’ area will also combine with Splasher’s Island and Splasher’s Mountain to give families lots more to enjoy, with nine thrilling waterslides designed specifically for the young adventurers.

If you fancy a rest, meanwhile, you can always jump in the action river, kick back and relax as the current takes you through twists and turns while you enjoy the incredible views of Dubai’s iconic skyline.

Tim Kelly, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Atlantis The Palm and The Royal Atlantis, said: “At Atlantis we endeavour to deliver amazing experiences and everlasting memories for all of our guests and so enhancing the Atlantis Aquaventure offering is the natural next step in providing the best experience possible.

“We have carefully curated each attraction to ensure that we deliver first-of-its-kind ride technology for children, families and thrill-seekers alike. Trident Tower and its record-breaking slides will be a thrilling addition to the Atlantis experience, and we look forward to the unveiling in summer 2020.”

While the new additions might be a little way off, there is plenty to enjoy at the waterpark right now, with more than 20 amazing rides and rivers to experience. Currently, guests can buy a two-day pass, enabling you to go back on a second day, which can be redeemed within a three-day period. Prices start from AED250.
