Insomnia Gaming Festival coming to Dubai

Are you a fan of retro games like Mario or Zelda? Become a fan of being immersed in Virtual Reality (VR) gaming or play to win at eSports? You’re going to want to keep an eye out for this gaming festival.

The longest-running UK eSports and gaming festival, Insomina Gaming Festival is finally coming to Dubai this year, and it’s featuring everything from eSports tournaments on PC and consoles to Insomnia’s crazy “Cosplay Masquerade”.

The three-day extravaganza will take place from Thursday October 17 until Saturday 19 at the Meydan Grandstand Conference Hall. Tickets to the huge event aren’t available just yet. We’ll keep you posted on further updates.

What isn’t there at this huge festival? For eSports fans, expect a range on tournaments offering cash prizes, so prepare to test your mettle in Call of Duty with a team of four, an intense Rocket League match on PC and a one-on-one fight in Tekken 7.

Smaller tournaments where exclusive merch can be won will see top players battle it out in Overwatch, League of Legends and, of course, Fortnite.

Want to dress up as your favourite gaming character? There’s no better place, as Insomnia’s signature masquerade competition will see many cosplayers dress to impress in order to win big.

There are plenty of other sections, including one dedicated to VR gameplay, a place where gamers can bring their own computers for huge LAN parties, along with drone racing challenges and a dance floor featuring live DJ sets.

“We are also partnering with GAME, and a variety of world leading esports tournament organisers to run a series of major tournaments throughout the region, with the finals taking place at Insomnia Dubai in October 2019”, said Founder of Dubai based Global Event Management James Magee.

“Video games and eSports are now a truly global form of entertainment and it seems fitting that we can share our passion for games on a global basis through the Insomnia event series”, commented CEO of GAME Group Martyn Gibbs.
