Masterchef the TV Experience announce next big celebrity chef

We’ve already seen Masterchef India winner Nikita Gandhi whip up a feast earlier in June, but now we’re getting an all-new celebrity chef at MasterChef, The TV Experience.

The world-first, screen-to-plate restaurant concept at Millennium Place Marina is bringing in Diana Chan, the MasterChef Australia 2017 victor, to curate a five-course tasting menu. Our bellies are already rumbling.

Priced from AED215, The limited-edition set menu will be available from Saturday July 6 until Friday July 12, and cooked by the Malaysian-born celebrity chef, known for Asian-Aussie fusion cuisine.

The menu opens with a scallop carpaccio with smoked yuzu buttermilk. As for main, diners can choose either Australian wagyu rendang or taro and tofu tortellini in a laksa broth.

For dessert, expect a ‘Tropical Explosion’, including rambutan, rice cream, feuilletine and buck-wheat crumb and hibiscus consommé dessert.

“This is my first trip to Dubai and the warmth, hospitality and passion for food really stands out”, said Chan.

“Dubai is truly a cosmopolitan city home to numerous nationalities - this means F&B operators need to constantly keep up with international trends in order to cater to a wide variety of tastes.”

Better yet, Chan and MasterChef, the TV Experience Head Chef Margarita Vaamonde-Beggs are also offering fans the chance to swap TV remote controls for chef aprons at the first-ever exclusive masterclass at the recently-opened dining concept.

Open to 12 would-be chefs on Sunday July 7 from 5pm, the limited seating masterclass will see cooking enthusiasts recreate Chan’s famous ‘Taro and Tofu Tortellini’ using pasta made from scratch, all for AED400.

MasterChef, the TV Experience is open daily from noon until 3pm and 7pm until 11pm. For a chance to eat Chan’s limited-edition menu, though, it’s only available from 7pm until 11pm.

Finally, we get to eat what we see on screen.
