Take That to play Dubai
Stop everything. Take That are playing their first ever Dubai gig on October 30. The British boy band are booked for an exclusive concert in Media City’s Amphitheatre, marking their first trip to the Middle East as a group.
The most famous boy band of them all may have been reduced to a trio in recent years – Jason Orange left, Robbie Williams never really returned – but the Gary Barlow-led group are still one of the best and most beloved bands around. Just ask women “of a certain age” in your office.
“We've always been very proud of our live shows and are very excited about performing in Dubai for the first time,” the lads said in a statement. “Playing live is something we love the most about what we do and we're looking forward to putting on the most amazing show we can. We hope to see you there!”
Although this is Take That’s first UAE performance, Gary Barlow already sang us ‘A Million Love Songs’ on the same stage. The singer played Media City’s Amphitheatre last year, so he’s no stranger to the Dubai crowds.
The Dubai gig comes straight off the back of the band’s successful European tour, and like almost every other date the trio have announced, this is expected to sell out… fast. "It is only now we are able to, for the first and only time here in the Middle East, present the guys live in concert," says Thomas Ovesen of Done Events. "So when on October 30th we open doors for this most requested, demanded and indeed anticipated Dubai show we expect it to be for another Sold Out Take That concert.”
You can’t argue with eight number one albums, 15 number one singles, and seven million concert ticket sales.
The release date for tickets still to be announced. To pre-register visit www.doneevents.com and stay tuned to Dubai 92, which is the official Take That Live in Dubai station.
