Issue one of ShortList UAE hit the streets of Dubai and Abu Dhabi today, offering the boldest new voice in entertainment. The free weekly is packed full of news and reviews, answering the question, “What can I do today, tomorrow and at the weekend?” Have no fear people of the UAE, we’ve got it covered.

Dubai Music Week
Global superstar Jason Derulo did the honour of launching our first magazine. Click here to read our interview with the “Want To Want Me” singer ahead of his gig on Wednesday September 23 (that’s tomorrow!).

As well as launching our magazine, Derulo is the opening act for Dubai Music Week. The doors at Entertainment Village open at 1.30pm, and fans will get the chance to see Jason Derulo on stage at 2.30pm. What’s more, the first 1,000 ticket holders to his concert can join a Celeb Talk session hosted by Kris Fade – you might even be able to ask him a question yourself. Nightlife
Nike Bufton, aka Mr Mr, helps kick off the new party season in style, with his round up of the parties for your diary. We’ve got Dubai Music Week, Shibuya Season II Opening Party, Quantic at The Music Room and, of course, the event everyone’s been talking about, City Slide.

The First Time
The first issue of ShortList in the UAE got us thinking about some of the other notable firsts in the history of the UAE. Did you know the first sparkling brunch was Spectrum on One at Fairmont? That the first mall was Al Ghurair Centre in Deira? Or that the first Emirates Airlines flight left at 11.45am on October 25, 1985? Well, you do now.

For more notable firsts, and the rest of our (quite frankly awesome) magazine, keep a look out for ShortList. We’re in malls, cinemas, residential towers, cafes and restaurants.

ShortList UAE is available free every Tuesday.
