Funnily enough, two of our six hot picks take place in the garden city so if you’ve been putting off an Al Ain outing, this is the weekend to make up for it. We’ve got guests from India (the Symphony Orchestra of India takes the stage), world-renowned cyclists and plenty of German favourites as Oktoberfest sweeps the city.

Oktoberfest at Hilton
The hotel’s gorgeous Hiltonia Beach Garden is set for the return of their incredibly popular Oktoberfest tribute. Across two days, crowds will be entertained by six-piece band Das Element while enjoying German treats in a great outdoor setting. It’s all about the hops, and there’ll be plenty of it, as well as a fantastic Bavarian buffet. Entry with unlimited food costs AED135 per person. Or bring the entire gang – groups of ten costs AED990.
When: Thursday October 8 (and Friday October 9), 7pm to midnight

First transporting you back to the baroque era with Bach’s Third Brandenburg Concerto, then through the ages via musical masterpieces of the 20th century, with compositions from the likes of Elgar and Wirén.
