Abu Dhabi was used as a filming location, and this clip appears to show Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter after a battle scene. Those of you who don't have Facebook (if there are any of you left in the world), can watch the video via YouTube below - unfortunately you won't get the 360 experience.

Hard-core Star Wars fans in the UAE will also be excited by news that the new film may be released in the UAE before anywhere else.

The countdown is on, and it’s less than 100 days until screens across the world show Star Wars: The Force Awakens… But will UAE residents get the first look before anyone else?

After initial reports that the film would launch on December 17 in the UAE, Imdb have caused a super-fan meltdown by listing the UAE release date as December 15 – that’s earlier than anywhere else in the world.

Part of the movie was filmed in Abu Dhabi, and according to The National “big things are planned in the capital for the movie’s release date.”
