Sheikh Mohammed drives Egyptian president around Dubai
You may have been diverted last night if you were driving around Dubai. There were multiple lane closures and road blocks, as HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, drove Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi around Dubai.
The initial meeting, which took place in the Executive office with President El Sisi and his delegates, was to discuss relations and co-operation between the UAE and Egypt.
Sheikh Mohammed said: "A strong Egypt is the support for all Arabs. The UAE-Egyptian relations are not usual diplomatic relations, but are relations based on love, fraternity and partnership established by the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and being sustained by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brothers."
He added: "Today, this brotherhood is being reinforced by a well-established relationship between the two governments and mutual interests between the two brotherly peoples."
As part of the meeting Sheikh Mohammed took President El Sisi on a tour of Dubai to show him the new developments. Photos released by Dubai Media Office show Sheikh Mohammed driving his famous G-Class with its number one number plate.
