6 things to do in Dubai this weekend

It’s the perfect temperature for us at the moment, and Dubai’s bars and clubs obviously agree, as the terrace openings and re-openings keep coming. This weekend sees Noir launch in Kempinski Hotel. We’ve got quite a lot for party animals, with Audio Tonic, brunch at Blue Marlin and a massive competition from The Address Hotels. But if all that wasn’t enough, Spectre is out in the UAE on Friday! We need to lie down…

Noir Opening
Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates are set to open a brand new lounge and cocktail bar this weekend. Noir is a throwback to 1920s New York, with sophisticated décor and a large terrace (which even has the occasional old film projected on the wall). Food is a fantastic fusion of Latin American and Asian, but if you fancy heading down just for the cocktails, we won’t judge you.
When: Thursday and Friday, 6pm to 3am
Where: Kempinski Mall of the Emirates,

Good luck and happy brunching.

Matching the success of 2012’s Skyfall was always going to be a big ask for director Sam Mendes and his leading man, Daniel Craig. But with a dazzling mix of locations, action sequences and a supporting cast that includes the formidable presence of Christopher Waltz and Monica Belluci, Spectre has taken aim and given it its best shot. You would expect nothing else, of course. If this is to be Craig’s swansong, he has done himself – and the series to which he has breathed new life – proud. See more on page 24.
