Orlando Bloom, Margot Robbie and Jessie J jet in to the UAE
A secret island off the coast of Abu Dhabi played host to music superstar Jessie J and Hollywood heavyweights Orlando Bloom and Margot Robbie this weekend, all in celebration of the new British Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
ShortList joined over 200 guests, celebrities and VIPs on Zaya Naurai Island, a short boat ride from the UAE capital's Saadiyat Island, enjoying a live performance from the always impressive Jessie J - back in the region after her performance last year at RedFest in Dubai.
The Dreamliner represents the latest addition to BA's fleet, and it made its inaugural London-Abu Dhabi flight on Thursday. The route will also be including Muscat, Oman.
"I’ve only been in Abu Dhabi for a day or so but it is a place of beautiful contrasts," gushed The Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie. "I visited the desert yesterday and that landscape is the opposite of the cosmopolitan modernity of the city – it is a beautiful place."
British Airways’ Head of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia Sales, Paolo De Renzis, said the introduction of the new 787-9 Dreamliner, which is the most technologically advanced aircraft in the British Airways’ fleet, ushering new era of luxury travel for customers in Abu Dhabi and Oman.
“We have a long heritage in the UAE with over 80 years of operations and it is entirely fitting that our loyal premium customers in Abu Dhabi can now experience the new First cabin that has been created specifically for this aircraft,” said De Renzis.
