VIDEO: Inside Dubai's newest theme parks
Dubai Parks and Resorts have just released a video giving people an exciting peek at the new theme parks being built in Jebel Ali. Motiongate, Bollywood and Legoland will all open in October 2016.
The video shows the construction site, as well as CGI to give you a real feel of how the park will look. Matthew Priddy, chief technical officer says, “Well as you know Dubai is all about world records. We are attempting our own world record. We are attempting to do something that nobody has ever done before. We have three theme parks: Motiongate, which is IP based – DreamWorks Animation, Sonny Pictures Studios, Smurfs and Lionsgate. Bollywood, then of course you’ve got Legoland.
Echoing his excitement, Raed Al Nuaimi, chief executive officer adds, “We will be opening three gates at the same time in 2016. Something like this has never been done in the world. ”
So what can we expect? A lot, it turns out. Motiongate is packed full of rides and attractions based around your favourite movies. Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train your Dragon and Shrek… and that’s just in the DreamWorks section!
Meanwhile Bollywood is starting to look like a real theme park. The domes of Rajmahal Theatre are taking shape, and the venue looks extremely impressive. Once completed it will have 850 seats and rising floors will bring actors and dancers out.
Legoland Dubai will be the seventh Legoland in the world. The park will be open night and day, with most of the attractions indoors to control the lighting – we also reckon that’s to keep families happy during the summer months.
The construction of Dubai Parks and Resorts comes as part of the vision to attract 20 million visitors to Dubai by 2020, as set out by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
