Is anyone else suitably knackered after the long weekend and Rugby Sevens? Yep, us too. It’s time to pull yourself through, as this week brings the ideal opportunity for Christmas shopping, ladies nights, new movies and plenty of laughs courtesy of The Laughter Factory.

So Chic Sale
Pacha Dubai and Frioul are hosting a So Chic sale full of preloved designer clothes, shoes and accessories. Nab yourself a pair of Jimmy Choos, lust over Fendi and treat yourself to Louboutin. There will also be two MAC make-up stations where you can get festive beauty tips to see you through the season. Frioul opens its doors for the daytime shoppers, with breakfast, lunch and dinner served throughout the sale, while Pacha starts it’s special ladies night at 7pm.
When: Monday December 7, from 8am at Frioul and 7pm at Pacha
Where: Frioul and Pacha, Madinat Jumeirah, www.facebook.com/sochicuae

Fashion Swap Shop
You may see a shopping theme here, but ‘tis the season to buy presents, right? Fashion Swap Shop’s Christmas Market hosts a whopping 11 hours of shopping this Tuesday, with Media One’s garden on 8 packing the stalls in. As well as independent boutiques, vintage sellers and art pieces available, you can take your old designer wears to swap with other fashionistas.
When: Tuesday December 8, 12pm to 11pm
Where: Garden on 8, Media One Hotel, www.fashionswapshop.com

Leave Your Boyfriend at Home
This is now becoming one of the most talked about ladies nights in the city and it’s been a pleasure to both promote and DJ this night. It has great live elements from sax and percussion to the talented local DJs on the rosta playing everything from house to RnB. It’s a guaranteed party.
When: Every Tuesday
Where: Cavalli Club, Fairmont Sheikh Zayed Road

Bridge of Spies (PG13)
The cinematic dream team that is the Spielberg-Hanks partnership returns with Bridge of Spies, a tense Cold War thriller based on the real-life prisoner exchange negotiation between the Soviet Union and America. Hanks is cast as compassionately judicious US attorney James Donovan, the man tasked with securing the release of a captured American pilot, a job that puts him in both the national spotlight, and eventually behind the perilously dangerous Iron Curtain.

Dubai International Jewellery Week
The 20th edition of Dubai International Jewellery is in town, relegating any excuses to not get your significant other that bling they’re looking for to the scrapheap. The good news is, such is the scale of the event, you can probably pick yourself up a nice bargain or two, nestled among the great and the gaudy.
When: December 9 to 12
Where: Dubai World Trade Centre, www.jewelleryshow.com/home
