Good news John Wick fans! It looks like Dubai will be one of the locations for the film’s latest installment; John Wick 3.

According to a report published by Arabic launguage newspaper Emarat Al Youm, American producer Jeff Waxman and fellow producer Chad Stahelski are exploring several film locations, including Dubai’s Al Fahidi area, some of the the ciy’s old souks, the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah, Sheikh Zayed Road and the Jumeirah Walkway.

We can just see it now… Keanu Reeves hopping from one dhow to another whilst effortlessly managing to avoid being hit by a bullets fired by not one but three gunmen.

An official statement released by the chairman of Dubai’s Film and TV Commission, Jamal Al-Sherif, announced that the movie starring Keanu Reeves is set to be filmed in New York, Los Angeles and Dubai.

“Through the information provided by the production company, the budget for this sequel which is shot in New York and Los Angeles is up to $50 million. $8 million is the cost of filming the scenes expected to be shot in Dubai,” he said.

He added: “We are now presenting the facilities and privileges that can be offered to make the deal work. Both in terms of filming permits and hotel discounts, flight tickets and assistance in the management of technical staff.”

We’re super excited! Not only because it would mean that the franchise will join a long list of films that have been shot in the UAE which includes Furious 7, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Star Trek Beyond, it would also mean that stars like Keanu Reeves and Lawrence Fishburne will be on our shores.

While the pilot of John Wick 3 is yet to be released, Reeves revealed earlier this year that it will most probably “put him in another vulnerable [situation]…”
