Zombieland 2 is finally happening
We love a good horror film. Crazy dolls offing one person after the next, love it. Weird clowns, playing on our every nightmare, why not? Seeing 20 missed calls from mum or dad, tis what we live for. Our favourite subgenre of horror flicks? Zombies. Because they often have the perfect balance of humor and non-stop action.
So, when we heard that Zombieland was getting a sequel, we naturally squealed and rushed to our keyboard to tell you all about.
The film will see Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin and Woody Harrelson reprise their roles as an unluckily group struggling to make their way across a zombie ridden America in the hopes of finding a safe place – Canada, maybe?
The film’s original screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick as well as its director Ruben Fleische will also be returning.
While the pilot is being guarded for dear life, we do know that it will be based in the US again and will include a few new survivors.
Our good ol’ zombie friends will be back too, of course, and they’ve adapted. Smarter perhaps? Or maybe they can speak now. Imagine. That would be pretty funny.
The film is set for an October 19, 2019 release date – that’s 10 years since the release of the first. Mind = blown.
Speaking on the film, the president of Columbia Pictures Sanford Panitch said: “This is one of those projects that fans have wanted to see happen for a long time – and no one wanted to see it happen more than Emma, Woody, Jesse, and Abigail. These are some of the most in-demand actors and I think they are making this movie because they love these characters.”
Yes Sanford, we love the characters a lot so, please don’t let Reese or Wernick kill any of them off. Or ruin it.
