Rock out to this exclusive Game of Thrones playlist on Spotify
We’re getting closer and closer to the beginning of the end people. The last season of Game of Thrones is just over the horizon, and to get you pumped for it, Spotify have released a brand-new playlist.
Game of Thrones co-creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, teamed up with Spotify to launch a refresh of Spotify’s rock-influenced playlist “Game of Thrones: The End Is Coming.” Needless to say, it will rock your socks off.
“We were looking for songs that made us feel the way the show made us feel,” said Benioff and Weiss on The Record, Spotify’s blog.
And it sure does, as it features music that references GOT, including Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, Howlin’ For You by The Black Keys, Sleep Now In The Fire (that’s definitely a song for “A Song of Ice and Fire"), and many more.
If there’s anything that will get you pumped, it’s this specially-made playlist. Check it out right now here.
Spotify also released just how many GOT fans listen to its iconic soundtrack, and it’s a big number. More than 380 million streams have been set for all Game of Thrones soundtracks.
In fact, more than 250,000 listeners have created their own Game of Thrones-themed playlists, even making character-specific versions. If you’re a fan of Tyrion Lannister, there’s more than 7,700 fan-made playlists dedicated just to him.
As for the most streamed song from the official soundtrack, the award for top spot goes to Light of the Seven, which was played when Cersei destroys the Sept of Baelor in Season 6, episode 10.
Once you’re done rocking out, you may want to head over to Yalumba’s special Game of Thrones brunch. Check out what you can do in “Westeros.”
There’s also an epic dragon egg Eater hunt to take part in, and you’ll have to become a fire lord, learn ancient words and appease the Khaeesi if you’re thinking of winning.
The Game of Thrones hype is real.
