Sonic The Hedgehog official trailer has landed
Just when we thought video game movies were getting good, with everything from Warcraft to Ratchet and Clank (and even Ready Player One), along comes a strange looking blue hedgehog.
Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog, and we’re not quite sure what we just watched.
Have a look for yourself below:
See what we mean? Our favourite blue flash doesn’t quite look like himself, and we’re not sure what the animators were thinking putting proper human teeth in the design. He’s even missing his white gloves!
Strangely set in our realistic world, Sonic has somehow found a way here in order to save mankind. We’re not sure what yet, but we expect it to be part of an evil plot by his arch nemesis, Dr. Robotnik.
The movie stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, James Marden as a random cop along with Jim Carrey as Robotnik, who is the only good thing about the trailer.
At the very least, it’s from the producer of Fast and the Furious, so we can expect some fun, speedy action scenes and some high-tech vehicles. The director, Jeff Fowler, has only officially directed one other animated short movie back in 2004.
The trailer is already getting a lot of attention on YouTube, but not in the best of ways, as it currently has over 200,000 dislikes. Yikes.
Who knows, maybe it was just a badly constructed trailer and the movie itself will be spectacular. We can keep hoping, can’t we?
It comes out in November.
As for other (and probably better) entertainment to look forward to, 2018’s game of the year God of War is getting a brand-new documentary, named Raising Kratos.
