Robert Pattinson to star as Batman in new trilogy
It’s official, Robert Pattinson has been cast as Batman in the upcoming ‘The Batman’ movie, and fans have mixed feelings about it.
A report by Deadline stated the actor has been approved "as the star of The Batman, the trilogy of films that Matt Reeves will direct later this year".
Basically, we hope he nails the first one, or the other two in the trilogy won’t go down so well…
This isn’t the most ideal news for Batman fans around the world, as more than 6,000 people signed a campaign titled “Warner Brothers, don’t do it! Don’t cast Robert Pattinson as Batman.” Low blow…
But the same was said about the late Heath Ledger who played The Joker in Nolan’s The Dark Knight, and look at how iconic he turned out to be.
‘The Batman’ was initially expected to star Ben Affleck, with the actor even producing and writing the script with director Matt Reeves. Now, the role is all Pattinson's.
Expect to see Pattinson don the batsuit in the upcoming flick scheduled to be released.
Speaking of all things Batman, if you want to know which Batman threw the most punches or who was the most useful (spoiler: that goes to Adam West), check out this new study all about the Caped Crusader.
Will it all somehow connect to Joaquin Phoenix’s upcoming Joker flick? Who knows, but in the meantime, check out an Easter Egg we may have spotted in the Joker trailer.
Don’t worry Pattinson, we believe you’ll do the Bats justice (so, please do).
