New Amazon show Too Old to Die Young is out now
Signed up for Amazon Prime yet? If you have, there’s a brand-new show from the director of cult hits Drive and The Neon Demon out right now.
Amazon has recently released new show Too Old to Die Young from Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, and its ten episodes come in at a massive 13 hours in total. What a perfect weekend binge.
It stars Whiplash and War Dogs star Miles Teller as Martin, a Los Angeles cop dealing with the death of his partner in the most understandable way imaginable – teaming up with vampiric monsters and mobsters to avenge his fallen comrade. You had us at vampiric.
Since it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, reviews have already come in, and it’s pretty divisive already. It’s currently labelled “rotten” at a mediocre 58 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Although an audience score hasn’t come in yet, and we all know the opinion of the audience plays a big part in a show.
It’s been described as “the most Nicolas Winding Refn thing that ever existed” by co-director Ed Bru-baker, and seems to be a slow-burner rather than action-packed. Depending on how you like your shows, this could be right up your alley.
Pique your interest? Available in both English and Arabic, UAE residents can now sign up to the streaming service with a yearly subscription priced at AED140, or spend AED12 per month for a special monthly subscription until Thursday October 31. It will be AED16 per month from then on.
As for what else is going on in the streaming world, Steven Spielberg’s new horror show can only be watched at night. Spooky.
Also, Netflix has announced that there will be a second season to hit show Russian Doll, and it's expected that there will even be a season three. Happy days.
