Actor Andy Serkis to direct Venom sequel
From his career, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him actually take on the role of Venom (played by Tom Hardy), but Andy Serkis has closed a deal to be the official director of the Spider-Man spin-off sequel.
And, he’s quite excited about it:
Don’t fret, this isn’t the first time the iconic performance capture role star has directed. He’s done Netflix’s positively received Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, and the very well received Breathe in 2017, his directorial debut.
We’re sure he’ll do a great job of it, more so than the original Venom’s Rotten Tomato score of 22 percent. That being said, audiences gave it 88 percent, and it absolutely dominated the box office. So, keep it the way it is, maybe?
We’re not sure what the sequel will be about yet, but following the end credit scene of Venom (spoilers), we may see Venom’s nemesis Carnage take centre stage.
We’re ready for the ride too, Serkis.
