Dubai's flashiest facials
It’s not a luxury facial without a rare/expensive ingredient and a celebrity fan. We’ve all seen the pictures of Kim Kardashian’s face covered in her own blood… but the less we talk about that the better (shudders). It seems that if the celebs are doing it, the rest of the world follows. Victoria Beckham slathers her face in caviar, bee venom is the face-mask of choice for Kate Middleton, and Jennifer Aniston is a huge fan of placenta – being the home of all things ostentatious and expensive, of course, all of these are available in Dubai.
The Placenta Facial
What: Called the placenta diamond facial, probably to make it sound less ghastly, this treatment is coveted for its skin tightening powers. Apparently the proteins, amino acids and vitamins are a miracle cure for cells, which drink in all the goodness. It targets wrinkles, dry skin and acne, as well as being great for skin conditions such as eczema. And yes, before you ask, it’s a human placenta.

The Diamond Facial
What: Diamond microdermabrasion uses the precious stones to zap the top layers of the skin, buffing away dead cells. The treatment isn’t invasive – it’s a sort of intense exfoliation session – but to use the clichéd term, it does leave skin ‘glowing’.

The Bee Sting Facial
What: Made famous by The Duchess of Cambridge, the bee sting facial uses bee venom and Manuka honey to improve the skin’s elasticity. What sounds like a useless publicity stunt is actually pretty effective. Some claim it's the natural Botox alternative, but whether that's true or not, it certainly brightens and tightens.

The Caviar & Crushed Pearls Facial
Possibly the most luxurious of our list, there’s scientific grounding to the choice of ingredients. Working together to replenish nutrients in deeper layers of skin than most facials reach, the pearls polish while the caviar moisturises.
