The World’s Largest Residential Tower Habtoor Tower

The Al Habtoor Group, the conglomerate of its field, has announced its next project which will earn the title of being the world’s largest residential tower. The city will witness an 81-story premium residential tower that will comprise 1701 units. The tower will be completed within 36 months.

Al Habtoor Group has said that they are in the final stage of choosing the main contractor for the initiative, based on their qualifications and experience. The company said that they were receiving bids from businesses in the United Arab Emirates, China, Europe, and India.

The 81-story building will be titled Habtoor Tower and will be built on Sheikh Zayed Road

Titled ‘Habtoor Tower’ this building will have a built-up area of about 327,000 square meters or 3,517,313 square feet. However, the company has not disclosed the height of the tower. This tower will be erected in the prime location on Sheikh Zayed Road next to the Dubai water canal and will also be near the Dubai International Financial Center. The tower will have a view of the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa. The exact value of this huge project is still not disclosed by the company.

The founding chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Al Habtoor revealed that the residential tower will be constructed within a period of 3 years which is a record time for the group. He used this opportunity to share his excitement for the project. As a former builder and contractor, he is thrilled to be driving the first piles of the tower into the site and to share some of the tower’s most innovative construction methods.

Mr. Al Habtoor added that the innovative construction technique they use will contribute to saving a substantial amount of carbon dioxide emissions. He claims that with these methods implemented, the carbon dioxide emissions will be less than 50 percent of traditional buildings’ carbon emissions.

Environmental experts are assessing the tower and they aim to achieve LEED ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Certification, from the leading authority in green building rating systems across the globe.

He also said that the tower will be a unique one in every aspect and can be even set as a learning curve for all contractors in the region. This massive residential project is promising a lot and we will have to wait and see how it develops and reaches fruition.

He adds that the Habtoor Tower being a part of the collection of skyscrapers of the United Arab Emirates will be beneficial to the nation’s vision to always be at the front list of being innovators, pioneering responsible developments, and also preserving the planet for the upcoming generations.
