Burj Khalifa ranked one of world’s top selfie attractions
The Burj Khalifa has been ranked number three in the world’s top attractions for taking selfies. Coming in behind the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Disneyworld in Florida, Dubai’s iconic tower is up there with some of the world’s touristic heavyweights.
Results were compiled by www.attractiontix.com using Instagram searches such as “Eiffel Tower Selfie”, which generated 10,700 hits, while Disney World collected 9,800, and the Burj Khalifa came a close third at 8,860.
As the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa is a bucket list destination for many people – in fact, at 828 metres high, it’s three times taller than the Eiffel tower and almost twice as tall as the Empire State building. But the world records don’t stop there… highest number of stories in the world, highest occupied floor in the world, tallest service elevator in the world, tallest freestanding structure in the world. You get the idea.
It’s so high that if you laid all of the pieces used in its construction end to end, it would almost reach a quarter of the way around the world.
The tower beats off stiff competition from many of the globes popular attractions. So next time you snap a selfie in front of the Burj Khalifa, just remember that you’re helping it climb the ranks of the list below – hopefully adding yet another trophy to the already impressive collection.
