Bollywood Parks Dubai Is Closed Forever

The world’s first Bollywood-themed park, The Bollywood Parks located in the Dubai Parks and Resorts on Sheikh Zayed Road has announced its final curtain calls.

On the 22nd March of 2023, the authorities announced a temporary closure due to Ramadan.  But on the 20th of April 2023, the temporary closure was announced to be a permanent closing of a one of its kind park.

Spanning over 1.7 million square feet this park gives the ultimate  B-Town experience which requires a minimum of 5 to 6 hours to completely explore. With its authentic shopping centers with Indian vibes and fine dining with the original Indian cuisine and fun attractions, like the Bollywood Boulevard, Mumbai Chowk, Rustic Ravine, Royal Plaza, and the Bollywood Film Studio.

The park announced on Instagram that as of 20th April, Bollywood Park will cease to exist. They also took this opportunity to extend their gratitude to all their guests, partners, and teams for delivering the music and colors of Bollywood to life.

While the park heeds to the final curtain call, the major attraction of the park, The Raj Mahal will be continuing its services and will be available to the public for conducting any private event. The re-opening dates of the Raj Mahal are yet to be announced.

The beautiful and luxurious Raj Mahal Theatre is an 865-seater and is situated right in the middle of the park. Designed to look like an ancient royal palace that screams Indian grandeur, this venue conducted a lot of live shows and performances and also had become the stage for private weddings, corporate, and other group events.

However, the reason behind this surprising closing announcement is not yet out. The park’s website adds to the anticipation by promising that they will be announcing the intriguing details of new attractions and experiences in the upcoming months.

Like Motiongate and Legoland, two of the several themed destinations within the Dubai Parks and Resorts, this Bollywood-themed park was a vivacious world that delivers the perfect Indian Cinematic experience. Paying homage to the trendsetters throughout the years, and the Bollywood hometown of Mumbai, The Bollywood parks were a perfect recreation of the Bollywood vibe.

The Bollywood Park was closed shortly for some exciting additions in 2021. This was the time they installed the world’s tallest swing ride, The Bollywood Skyflyer which stands 460 ft tall gives people the ultimate experience of hang gliding and swinging, and the riders will be lifted and dropped at varying speeds.

There were many more exciting rides introduced at that reopening like the Monsoon Masti, The Abraa Ka Dabraa, Tanga No. 13, Wheel of Stars, Hawa Hawai, The Rocket Stimulator, Taxi No. 1, Rodeo Ki Sawari, etc.

This park was inaugurated by the sensational  Indian film superstar and world-renowned Mr.Sha Rukh Khan, on the 17th of November 2016. It was an immediate hit and welcomed with big fanfare. Ever since its opening the park has been an incredible platform to cherish and commemorate the Bollywood film and music industry.

Now that the journey of this Bollywood-themed park has come to an end people have expressed their disappointment. But since the Parks and Resorts have already mentioned new ventures let’s hope for the next themed park that is in store for us.
