Riders Of The Dubai Police Department Dominate The NAS Cycling Championship

The first International Padel Federation (FIP) Gold Category event of the season took place in Dubai, as part of the 10th Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament Winners Benjamin Tison and Victor Mena was crowned by UAE Padel Association President Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum.

The tournament was held under the theme of ‘Limitless Abilities’ and organized by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC). In terms of participation and prize money, the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament is the largest event of its kind. Since 2013, it has taken place annually in the holy month of Ramadan at the illustrious Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex.

The event was a huge success, encouraging participants and spectators from around the world. The winners, Benjamin Tison and Victor Mena emerged as a winner after competing against some of the most brilliant Padel players in the world. Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, as the President of the UAE Padel Association, was pleased to be a part of this prestigious event. He witnessed the players’ outstanding performances.

The tournament showcased the most amazingly talented and skillful players, who got the opportunity to show their brilliant performances to a worldwide audience. It also provided a chance for the Padel community to come together and celebrate and promote the sport, and the values of inclusiveness determination, and sportsmanship.

During the UAEPA 10 category tournament, the ‘Uncle Saeed’ team, composed of Sheikh Saeed and Arsham Morad, was unable to reach the semi-finals after a close match against Anshul Choubal and Ishaan Choubal. The latter emerged victorious with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, setting up a showdown with Nicola Sciascia and Biel Ballester, who won their quarter-final match against Issa Al-Marzouqi Sharif and Ahmed Mustafa with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.

Maria Ibrahim and Amina Ali advanced to the UAEPA 10 women’s quarter-finals after defeating Arancha Suster and Mariana Norena 6-4, 5-7, 10-5. Aisha Al-Awadhi and Andrea Soto defeated Najla Issa and Noura Al-Hashemi 6-2, 7-5. While Guadeloupe de San Felix and Gabriela Duch defeated Khadeejah Sani and Hafsah Sani 7-5, 6-4, 10-8, Elizabeth Hernandez and Aisha Yateem defeated Fiana Hernandez and Tsedale Haptimer 6-0, 6-2.

The quarter-finals of the U-16 category saw several exciting matches. Ahmed Al Hashemi and Issa Ahli emerged as a winner with a score of 6-4, 6-3 against Abdullah Ahli and Mohammed Ahli. Faris Al Muhairi and Fahad Al Houli dominated their match against Hamdan Al-Hashemi and Ahmed Al-Hashemi, winning with a score of 6-0, 6-2.

Rashid Kamal and Hamad Abdullah had a convincing win over Mohammed Abdullah and Mohammed Ahli, with a score of 6-1, 6-1. Whereas, Saif Al-Hammadi and Qassim Al-Sharafi achieved a flawless victory of 6-0, 6-0 against Abdullah Al-Zarooni and Hamdan Kazim. These exciting matches displayed the impressive skills and talent of the young players who were competing in the tournament.

Although the ‘Uncle Saeed’ team was unable to advance, they still displayed great sportsmanship and represented the spirit of the competition. The tournament offered a great opportunity and provide a remarkable platform for players to compete at a high level and celebrate the sport of tennis. the tournament was quite intense and impressive performances from the players, showed their skills, and talent with determination.

The volleyball tournament continued to showcase exciting matches as international players battled it out on the court. In one of the matches, Zabeel, led by top Iranian players, emerged victorious against Al Khalidiya with a score of 3-0. Zabeel got off to a strong start, winning a closely contested first set and then dominating the next two sets with ease.

Meanwhile, Al Jawareh, who finished as runners-up in the previous year’s tournament, began their campaign with an impressive 3-0 win (25-13, 25-21, 25-23). In another tournament, the Dubai Police GHQ team secured the top spot in Group A after defeating the Dubai Courts team 31-20 in the wheelchair basketball tournament held at the Dubai Club for People of Determination.

In another match, the Al Bustan Center and Residence team emerged victorious against the Department of Finance with a score of 26-19. In Group B, the RTA team claimed a win against the Community Development Authority team with a score of 24-20, while Dubai Ambulance beat Ability Life 28-18. RTA took first place in the group with four points from two victories, followed by the Dubai Ambulance Corporation with two points from one victory. These results show the brilliant competition and impressive skills of the players in the tournament.
